Intramurals Updates
Make friends. Enjoy competition. Get active. Have fun.
UVic hosts one of the largest post-secondary education intramural programs in B.C. open to students, staff, alumni and community members. With a wide variety of sports and activities, intramurals are available to anyone on or off campus with a strong focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for people of all ages and skill levels. Intramurals contributes to student wellbeing through physical activity and personal wellness while building a community. Make friends, get fit, have fun!
Intramural leagues take place on campus using the many indoor and outdoor facilities including the fields, gymnasiums and the fieldhouse.
Participants have the opportunity to create their own team of friends, classmates, community members, etc.
Note: Non-UVic Assessed students will have to purchase a Community Intramural Access Pass ($95 per semester) before they will be able to register teams or as a player for intramural leagues in the fall (Sept 1st - Dec 31st) and winter terms (Jan 1st - April 30th). This fee does not apply to summer intramurals. This fee is implemented on a per-term basis to ensure equitable participation costs, as UVic students contribute to a recreation fee included in their tuition each semester. The Community Intramural Access Pass helps maintain fairness so that all participants share the same overall cost for intramural activities. Memberships can be purchased on the Vikes Active Living website.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Default Fines:
Default Fines are a $50 fee charged to teams who perform misconduct in the league or forfeit a game without notifying a manager within 48 hours of their scheduled game time. Captains will be assessed the fee on imleagues and will need to pay to have their team scheduled for the rest of the semester. Teams that forfeit games before the 48-hour cutoff will not be subjected to this fine.

Register to play!
Leagues remain open until they are full, or we enter the third week of play.
We are thrilled to announce that our intramural program will be offering both recreational (rec) and advanced divisions in some of our most popular sports this year. This new structure is designed to cater to players of all skill levels, ensuring a fun and competitive environment for everyone.
Vikes Intramurals runs “open” leagues so that all individuals can participate based on their interest and skill level rather than being restricted by gender-based team compositions. Co-rec leagues can unintentionally exclude individuals who do not fit neatly into traditional gender categories or who do not feel comfortable playing on teams defined by their gender.
By removing gender-based restrictions, "open" intramural sports leagues create a more welcoming environment where all individuals can participate without barriers, fostering inclusivity and diversity within the sports community.
Open leagues have NO requirements for gender.
